Welcome to PAR

Parents Advocacy and Rights (PAR) is a parent led group seeking to support parents with children in the care system, child protection, children’s hearings, and other situations where they have lost care of their children, or risk losing care.

Welcome to PAR – the organisation by parents for parents.

Parents Advocacy and Rights (PAR) supports parents who have either lost the care of their children, or risk losing care. This includes children in the care system, those involved in children’s hearings, child protection, family courts and other challenging situations where families are in trouble.

We offer peer support, advice and advocacy to families seeking help to be heard and respected by those who have the power to make decisions about them.  Often when social work, health or education services get involved in family life, parents – and their children – feel that nobody is listening to them and that their views don't count. PAR is here to help families’ voices to be heard and to help social workers and other professionals to listen.  No decisions about children and their families without their full involvement.
